There Are Many Of Us I’m Here, one of my favorite films of this year is finally getting a DVD/Book/CD release!
I saw this at Sundance this year and despite the early showing (8 am) I was blown away by the perfect storytelling, use of music and overall genius of Spike Jonze. The film played at the end of shorts series, so I remember walking out of the theater feeling the same way when I walked out of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Despite the brevity of the film (30 min, but kinda long for a short), Jonze packs in a lof of amazing songs. I’m kinda bummed when Pitchfork posts soundtrack listings as they can often be spoilers. That being said tho, the soundtrack is perfect.
A few months ago I went through a lot of trouble to find a downloadable rip of the film online (it’s still streaming here in partnership with Absolut Vodka) and make a DVD complete with menu, sleeve and a limited-edition book that happened to fit perfectly into the inlay card slot. It was a parting gift for a good friend/co-worker with whom I had worked with for 2 or so years. I don’t think that this person has watched it yet.
